I was born in Palermo, Sicily. While I still keep inside me the warmth of the sun and the lightness of the salty breeze from the sea, over the years, I’ve traveled all around Europe and moved and matured as a designer in Poland.
I define myself as a Mittle-European mind with a Mediterranean soul (or vice-versa, depending on the situation).
I’ve always had a passion for building, designing, and drawing. My childhood dreams were to become an architect, archeologist, and a restorer of ancient paintings.
I have a humanistic education and a degree in fine arts, earned at the Academy of Palermo, with a final thesis based on the relationship between art and technology.
Since 2003, I’ve been passionate about graphic design, video, and motion graphics. During the early stage of my design career, I founded the Northafrica collective and helped my friend Skip Valguarnera to create the first hair-salon-art-gallery in Italy. I’ve worked for several brand and advertising agencies, video production companies, and TV broadcasting channels.
Since 2011, when I moved to Poland, I’ve started expanding my knowledge of UX/UI and Digital Product Design. I have helped multiple startups, scaleups, and product companies to enhance and merge the gap between design, user needs, and business requirements.
In the last few years, I have focused on design leadership, management, and design operations, and I’m now supporting the Design team at Automattic.
I also love calligraphy, painting, and exploring my homeland. Recently, I started learning tango 💃🏻.
Feel free to reach out for a coffee and talk about anything design.
