Yesterday, I had the pleasure of visiting the new MuFo museum in Krakow, located at Rakowicka 22A. This recently renovated space, completed in 2022, represent the great potential that Poland can achieve in modern design and functionality, creating a perfect setting for photography exhibition.
The highlight of my visit was The World of Feelings and Imagination, an exhibition showcasing Zofia Rydet’s experimental photo montage work.
Having collaborated with the “Zapis Socjologiczny” archive project, I had always associated Rydet with reportage and documentary photography. This exhibition revealed a completely unexpected side of her artistry, one rich with imagination and emotion.
The exhibition’s design was impeccable—lighting, narration, and spatial arrangement worked in harmony to bring Rydet’s experimental work to life.
Adding a personal connection, my friends Karol Hordziej and Joanna Gorlach played key roles in the exhibition’s production, making the experience even more meaningful. I haven’t worked with them in many years, and it’s amazing to witness their growth and maturity in designing great art displays. I wouldn’t hesitate to say they have become best-in-class professionals in the European scene.
MuFo has established itself as a must-visit space for anyone interested in photography, art, or innovative storytelling. I highly recommend stopping by to see Poland’s photography heritage and in this little gem in Krakow.
